E. J. Kim, Ph.D.
E.J. Kim has been the CEO of Theracion Biomedical since its founding in June 2016. With over 20 years of experience in medical devices and pharmaceuticals, he brings deep expertise to his role. Prior to establishing Theracion Biomedical, he worked as a scientist focusing on non-vascular stents, medical devices, OTC/ETC products, drug delivery systems (DDS), anticancer drugs, and biodegradable guided tissue regeneration membranes. Mr. Kim holds a Ph.D. in biomaterials from the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at Kyungpook National University in Korea and pursued graduate studies in chemical engineering at McMaster University in Canada.
Oh Hyeong Kwon, Ph.D.
Professor Kwon has been the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Theracion Biomedical since 2016. He is a professor in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at KIT, Korea, and holds a Ph.D. in Biomaterial Chemistry from Kyoto University, Japan (1998). With over 25 years of expertise in biomaterials, his research focuses on topical hemostats, tissue engineering, polymeric nanofibers, and intelligent polymers.

Yang Hyun Cho, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor Cho is a faculty member in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at SMC and Sungkyunkwan University College of Medicine, Korea. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from Korea University College of Medicine. In 2023, he joined Theracion Biomedical as a clinical advisor. Dr. Cho is a member of the Korean Board and Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
Motoichi Kurisawa, Ph.D.
Professor Kurisawa earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science from JAIST, Japan, in 1998. He was a Senior Principal Investigator at Singapore's Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology from 2003 to 2021 and is now a professor at JAIST. Recognized for his contributions, he received the Outstanding Paper Award from the Journal of Artificial Organs (1997, 2002) and the Grand Prize and ASEAN First Prize at the 2015 CIPTA Awards for developing a green tea catechin-based drug carrier. Since 2016, he has served on the Editorial Board of Biomedical Materials.
